How many parents out there wished their kids came with a rule book!? News for you, each and every single kid is different and even if someone gave you a book, no telling if it would work for you. Awe, the adventures of raising kiddos!! And toddlerhood? Hoo boy!
Here are My Personal Toddler Tips (Several of these apply if you have Huskies too).
- If it’s Quiet, be afraid. Most likely they are getting into something they shouldn’t.
- Your desired schedule isn’t necessarily their desired schedule. They win.
- Meal time can easily turn into a food fight. Do NOT wear white.
- If you’re in a hurry to get out of the house, there will without fail, be a blowout diaper.
- If you really don’t want them to play with something, hide it. If you hide it, write yourself a note and put it on the fridge. 10 to 1, you’ll forget where you hid it. (Note: this only works until they can read!) LOL
- If you have a lot to do around the house or on the computer, they will finally fall asleep on your lap. If you move, they will wake up and be serious grumpy pants.
- If the phone rings, a quiet toddler will suddenly turn into a “baby pterodactyl”.
- “Mobile” is equal to MANY more misadventures. . . Good luck!
- “Me Time” often means going to the bathroom or taking a shower in peace in quiet.
- You love them. You love them even when you have no idea how something so small and angelic looking can possibly make that big of a mess.
This is definitely an incomplete list but hopefully a few helpful tips for a mama’s sanity. You got this!!
