Wow! All I can say is, ‘Babies and Little Ones should come with a manual’! Am I right!? I’m sure many of you are thinking, “uh, yeah! Understatement of the century”! I definitely wish I knew what I know now back when I was a brand new mama, that’s for sure! There are so many things that seriously have made baby number 2 that much easier. (And then there are definitely some things that are harder without a doubt! But that’s for another day.)
There are definitely a few things that I have found to be incredibly helpful to have in the Mom Arsenal. . .
- Infant and/or Child Tylenol. I’ll be the first to say I’ve always been nervous about “drugging my kid”. Seriously though, I’m not giving it to them every single day. I follow the doctor’s recommendations. However, having it on hand has been HUGE! You never know when they’re going to start teething or going through a growth spurt or suddenly get hit with a horrible cold.
- Extra Bibs and/or Burpies. Kid you not, I thought having 3-4 of each as a new parent would be plenty. Unless you want to be doing laundry twice a day, I would highly recommend getting double or triple that! There were days that we went through 3-4 bibs in half a day and burplies can be used for EVERYTHING. Best friend!!!!
- Extra change of clothes for the BabyKiddo AND YOU. You may at least think about bringing an extra change for the baby, right? They may have a diaper blow out or spit up. A toddler may have an accident. HA! I cannot count the times that the baby ended up being fine but managed to have the perfect projectile aim for all over ME. Bring yourself something just in case.
- Snacks and water. Ok, I’m a nursing mom. So, I get it. Some of you may not need anything for your baby quite yet. However, with all that nursing you really need to be taking care of YOU too. And once your little one is big enough, having water and snacks on hand will be a lifesaver! If you get stuck somewhere even for a few minutes, keeping that little one entertained with a snack is a huge help.
- Skin Repair For Kids. Toddlers and bumps and bruises go together like PB&J! And our baby boy is proving to be even worse! Seems like I’m ALWAYS caring for booboos. . . anyone else? I’ve been carrying Active Skin Repair for Kids lately and it’s been a serious “Mom Hack” and lifesaver that I will be keeping in my Mom Arsenal for a LONG time! With the adventures my kiddos like to dive into, it’s imperative that I have something that works on hand and they definitely had me at “Sting Free”! Hello and Thank you!!
