Such a trying time. Mom-Life at Home in so many cases has taken such a turn and many of us are still trying to figure out what our New “Normal” actually is. I’m not sure anyone’s home can go a day without thinking about COVID-19. At least here, we are ordered to “Shelter in Place” and to only go outside for essentials. We are starting to see face masks worn everywhere and it’s become a full adventure to track down toilet paper in the grocery stores. Schools are closed and it’s looking like they won’t be opening until next year.
Our family is incredibly grateful to still be working, as many people have been at least temporarily laid off. It’s scary and definitely has a lot of us stressed to the max. Moms (and Dads) who are used to working away from their homes are suddenly staying home with their kids ALL DAY LONG. And moms who are used to working from home have their kiddos, who are used to being in school, home ALL DAY LONG. Those moms who are used to working from home and have little ones, well. . . not a TON has changed, but we’re desperately missing our Target & Coffee runs along with playdates!
Suddenly, not only are we Mamas, Homemakers, Boss Babes, but we are also expected to be teachers and full-time entertainers all within the confines of our own home. It’s a definite adventure! How are all of you doing? Hanging in there? I was so excited to have Ren Beanie Public Relations reach out to me for a special Boredom Busters Collaboration! Yes, encouraging education is definitely important and if you haven’t already, check out my recent post on ABCmouse. In the same breath, we need to break things up during the day and encourage creative play and adventures. And sometimes we need a little help in that department!
Ren Beanie PR compiled a list of Boredom Busters / Fun Ideas for Open-Ended Play and sent us some favorites to test out. Check out the FREE Download below! These kiddos have been having a blast! From PlayhutTM Pinkfong Baby SharkTM Explore4Fun’s pop-up play tent to Tonka Metal Movers “Tonka Tough”, (Connor’s favorite), to the Noah doll from Hairdoables Scented Series 4 to the Disney Frozen Elsa Deluxe Styling Head, (Skylar’s favorite). They have so many perfect options to help mama’s out with classic and innovative play for the kids!
Both kids have been having such fun playing hide n’ seek and chase in their Baby Shark Pop-Up Play Tent. I’ve even caught Skye in there reading a few times. Connor LOVES his “Tonka Tough” trucks, especially when I get the dirt out for him. Yup, it even came with its own dirt!! (Beware moms, this is endless fun for the kids, but we DO have to clean up the dirt. I found putting it in a small box for him helps immensely.)
You cannot go wrong with a good Pull-Back car, right!? Both of them have been having a blast revin’ their PJMasks Glow Wheelers! Skye pretends she’s Owlet and Connor has the Gekko Mobile. The only downfall to this one in particular is that they both keep trying to bring these to bed because they glow. This mama gets serious about bedtime though – “No Noise Makers in Bed”.
If you’re looking for the perfect Ideas for some good Inside Fun, you’ve got to check these out!
