A day in the life of a mama can be a serious whirlwind and it is so easy to lose yourself along the way. It’s about keeping these tiny humans alive, nurturing them to be these beautiful little people and along the way, our own well being is often forgotten or at least pushed off to the side. I love my babes with all my heart, so honestly, I’m ok with this most days. And then, I have days where I realize, it’s been over 3 and a half years of wearing boring nursing tops and camis and when was the last time I had a hot meal, really? How many of us reheat our cup of coffee 4 or 5 times before we actually get more than a couple of sips?
If you’re lucky enough to live near family, you may have some help. Perhaps Grandma or Grandpa can drop by to give you a little much needed Mama Time. For me, the nearest family actually lives about 4 and a half hours away, without traffic. Finding a trustworthy babysitter, especially when your little one is nursing and teething and going through who knows what. . . well, that can be an adventure that I have yet to find the answers to.
Well, mamas, obviously this post is about the need to get in a little bit of Mama Time. Do something just for YOU. Again, I totally get it. It can be rough. My hubs is starting a new job and life has been ridiculously hairy lately and I have definitely missed out on some solid Me Time. And what does that mean now? Who am I? I used to be a workaholic, a busy Boss Babe, a dance instructor and a gal who always seemed to have people around. Since becoming a mom, I couldn’t feel more in love. There is a part of me that feels whole that never existed before. In the same breath, who am I? What am I doing for me? If you’re feeling this, you’re not alone. So many moms go through this and it can be an overwhelming feeling that can seem to take over.
Yes, you’re a mama. But you, as a single entity, matter. You may find your entire world flipped, but it’s SO important to find those hobbies, those things that give you a bit of release. . . Finding what makes you tick may be part of the adventure. I know timing can be nuts, but I challenge you to try something new this week. Even if it’s super small. On top of that, it’s also imperative to take care of you. How many of us are guilty of taking care of everyone else and then forgetting the last time we actually ate? . . . Ummm, ME!!! Shout out for a little Self-Love! It’s time to give yourself a little pat on the back for keeping the little humans alive and celebrate just how kick-booty you are! And with that, I have to give a special shout out. . .
A HUGE thank you to Pink Blush for gifting me with this gorgeous Navy Blue Floral Striped Sleeve Knot Plus Top and Plum Draped Front Plus Nursing Top. (Which one’s your fav?) Find these tops and so many more HERE. Not only can I comfortably nurse in them, but the material is Oh-SOOO soft and luxurious feeling! Mamas, we all need to find something just for ourselves to remind us how special we are. And I love the feeling when I step into these gorgeous tops! When’s the last time you did something just for you? And have you checked out Pink Blush?! I tried a couple of their dresses out when I was pregnant and then used a dress of theirs for a wedding. OMG, gorgeous material, made to last and made to wear! I for one am a fan. When I found out they had more than maternity clothes, I had to check it out.
I would love to hear from you! What have you done recently just for you? Have you tried any of Pink Blush’s clothes? And if so, how have you liked it?
ALSO, a little bit of random. . . I just updated my Instagram handle (that means my name). So, check it out and be sure to follow HERE. (https://www.instagram.com/theclassymamabear/).
