First of all, to all of you mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day! A day to celebrate and honor the mothers in a family. A day to take time to let her know how much you love her and appreciate her. And as a mama, a day to kick back and . . . who’m I kiddin’, most mamas end up still working hard.
Honestly, I thought I had completely lost hope on having kids myself. Having so many health issues left me with doctors saying I’d never be able to have children. My husband and I made our own family by adopting our 4-legged kids and lots of love. After many years, we were blessed with our own children and our whole life became a new world. We still had the love for our animals, but we suddenly had so much more love in our home. An adventure for sure!
What does “Motherhood Unplugged” mean? Well to me, as mothers, so many of us have this undeniable drive to be perfect in so many ways. We all want to do the very best for our babies. We want to give them all we possibly can. We want to have it all together. In reality, there is no such thing of being perfect. No one has it ALL together. No one can do it all. Motherhood Unplugged is me pulling back the curtain and letting you in on some of the honesty. The good, the ugly, the beautiful. . .
Moms, you put up with a lot. Am I right? There are times that being a mom seems like it’s a little much. And as much as we love our families and want more than nothing to be with them and give every ounce of who we are for them, . . . we also need a little time just for us. It can feel impossible to find that time. Trust me, I get it. However, truly, you cannot ‘pour a cup of tea from an empty kettle’. If you want to continue to give and take care of the ones you love, take the moments to take care of YOU.
Take the time. Ask for the help if you need it. You are 100% worth it! You’re such an amazing part of so many lives. Fill your kettle. And then, take every moment you have with your family and pour your love into them.
Sending lots of love,
Classy Mama Bear XO
